When the ceiling becomes a mirror: an immersive scenography for the SODEXO evening at Mas Cabanyes

For the SODEXO evening held at Mas Cabanyes in Barcelona, the agency Havas Event and our client Quattrocento wanted to transform the venue without altering its architectural identity. The goal: create an elegant, contemporary and immersive atmosphere that would enhance the space while supporting a high-end culinary and event experience.

To meet this brief, Like Mirror designed and installed a long silver tensioned mirror along the entire ceiling—becoming the visual backbone of the scenography.

A mirrored ceiling that restructures the space

Mas Cabanyes is a spacious venue, bathed in natural light and marked by a magnificent exposed timber structure. Installing a continuous tensioned mirror over the full length of the room served two main purposes:

• amplifying depth and enhancing the perspective of the space;
• capturing the energy of the event through reflections of the culinary stations, lighting and the movement of guests.

The silver tensioned mirror becomes an architectural feature in its own right, creating a vibrant, animated ceiling in which every segment reflects a different moment of the evening.

A mirror that interacts with light, vegetation and architecture

The mirror—installed as a seamless longitudinal band—acts as a dynamic surface. It reflects:

• the black, sculptural culinary stations,
• the lush green islands,
• the violet and golden lighting effects,
• the large bay windows opening onto the Catalan landscape.

These reflections layer architecture, furniture, landscape and movement, creating a new visual reading of the space. The reversed perspective draws the eye upwards, redefining the room’s verticality. Guests move through an environment where ceiling and floor continuously interact, resulting in a fully immersive experience.

A lightweight, custom-made solution for premium events

As with all Like Mirror solutions, the silver tensioned mirror installed here offers key advantages:

Throughout the evening, guests, chefs and event staff naturally gravitated toward the mirrored ceiling, which turned every moment into a visually striking composition. The photos taken onsite highlight the precision of the reflection as well as the key role the mirror played in defining the scenography’s identity. The mirror amplified the volume of the space while introducing a theatrical elegance that left a lasting impression on attendees.
