Everything you need to know about the installation and maintenance of Like Mirror mirror panels
Our mirror panels are easy to use, their lightness allows a quick and efficient installation which makes it an ideal product both in architecture for a mirror ceiling but also in events for the realization of an ephemeral structure. However, it is normal that you have certain questions, which is why we have produced a series of easy-to-understand video tutorials to answer questions that are frequently asked about the use of our mirrors.
A simple method to mount a Like Mirror on the ceiling is to screw fixing eyebolts directly into the threaded inserts previously installed in the frame of your stretch mirror panel. These pegs will allow the mirror to be suspended using a cable from a pre-existing structure or to be screwed to the ceiling, its height can then be adjusted using the tensioners/gripple joiners.
Do you have a ceiling with plates or metal furring? In this case, magnets are the best installation technique to use! If the magnets are not directly installed on your frame, it is enough to screw them there with simple screws (not included).
Be careful not to screw the magnets in the corners of the frame, the screw could damage the structure of the latter.
For more security, it is also advisable to screw plates to the frame connected to cables and safety gripples.
Finally, put the magnets of the frame in contact with the metal surface on the ceiling (using protective gloves so as not to damage the mirror) to complete the installation, the ultra-light mirrors will remain maintained by the magnetic force.
Using Like Mirror panels as a screen is a good trick to structure the space of a place or to hide an unsightly area. There are two methods for assembling them: the first using 180° hinges which, once screwed between two panels, will allow you to open and close your screen at an angle between 90° and 180°.
The second method consists of using 360° hinges this time, which will allow you to fold and unfold your screen as you see fit.
Over time and use, your Like Mirror stretch mirror may have received knocks that have damaged it, creating an area where the canvas is no longer stretch correctly, which affects its reflection. In this case, do not panic! As long as the fabric is not pierced, the mirror can easily be re-tensioned by heating the damaged area. Using a simple heat gun (in our tutorial we use a 230 V heat gun from MAKITA – HG5012K, 1.6KW, 230V, but any heat gun will do!), gently make rotary movements about 15 cm from the fabric, creases and impacts will be absorbed by the tension created by the heat.
Be careful not to heat the canvas too much at the risk of burning it and making a hole in it.
One of the advantages of Like Mirror mirror panels is their modular nature, in fact the panels can be assembled to create complex structures. Here we suggest you discover three assembly options with different clamps provided for this purpose:
The first option allows the panels to be joined to each other in a linear fashion with a straight clamp.
The second is to assemble the panels at right angles with the mirror side outwards using a corner clamp.
Finally, the last option allows you to create a right angle with the panels by having the mirror face facing inwards using a straight clamp.
In each case, simply slide the corner of the clamp into a slot cut with a cutter in the non-mirror part of the panel in order to hook the frames together, then tighten the clamp with an assembly key .
A stain on your mirror panel quickly arrived! Fingerprints after someone handled it without gloves? It would be a shame to lose thought! Don’t worry, our mirrors are easy to clean.
Use a previously moistened microfiber cloth and gently rub from top to bottom. Be careful, do not rub in a circle, do not go back and forth, do not rub too hard and do not use a dirty wipe. These actions can spread dust and create scratches on the mirror film.
