The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have come to an end, leaving behind unforgettable memories. Beyond the exceptional sporting performances, the event was marked by artistic moments of rare intensity, and we are particularly proud to have contributed to one of the most memorable sequences thanks to our expertise in mirrors.
Among the highlights, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the Seine was a true masterpiece. In this unique setting, we had the honor of participating in this emblematic staging using our Gold Mirror film, creating spectacular visual effects.
The first installation, during the “Synchronicity” sequence, highlighted the majestic façade of the Hôtel-Dieu. For this special occasion, the historic building was covered in over 150,000 sheets of 45 x 400 mm Miroir Or film, transforming the façade into a shimmering work of art that captured the light and bounced it in all directions. As dancers danced to the rhythm of the workers rebuilding Notre Dame Cathedral, this effect helped to magnify the architecture of Paris, offering a brilliant reflection of the city and its historical treasures. The video capture of the ceremony allowed us to see this additional achievement as the bearers of the Louis Vuitton trunk containing the medals of the future champions advanced onto the quay.
The second highlight came during the “Liberté” sequence, during the concert by the metal band Gojira on the façade of the Conciergerie. This vibrant spectacle was accompanied by the spectacular performance of opera singer Marina Viotti who appeared on a boat-shaped float. The sail of this boat, a strong symbol of the city of Paris, whose sail was entirely composed of strips of Miroir Or film. These golden reflections accentuated the effusions of blood-red streamers projected from the walls of the building, contributing to this vibrant tribute to the French Revolution, a great moment in our history.

Our participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is a new step for Like Mirror, where we were able to demonstrate our know-how, our responsiveness and the quality of our products in an international setting. By collaborating with artists, scenographers like Thomas Jolly and architects, we have proven that our mirrors are much more than just reflective surfaces: they are essential elements to magnify artistic and cultural performances.
