During the 2026 edition of 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen, the exhibition Résurgences – Reissues of French Design Icons took over the historic salons of Palais Thott, home of the French Embassy in Denmark. Conceived by Bérénice Curt Architecture, this exhibition set up a dialogue between architectural heritage, contemporary creation and iconic reissued pieces of French design. Within this 18th-century setting, the scenography relies on a subtle interplay of reflections and perspectives, in which Like Mirror’s mirror solutions play a full part in the visitor experience.
The salons of Palais Thott boast a rich architecture: antique parquet floors, wood panelling, mouldings, monumental fireplaces and high ceilings. Rather than opposing this historic backdrop, the scenography designed by Bérénice Curt Architecture seeks to create a dialogue between the exhibited pieces and their environment. Objects appear to float in space while perspectives extend through reflections. This approach reveals furniture from multiple angles and offers a renewed reading of each creation.
At the heart of the exhibition route, mirror elements are not used as mere decorative surfaces. Large panels crafted in Silver Stretched Mirror act as genuine scenographic devices. Positioned within the salons, they reflect the works, the visitors and the architecture of the place, creating a succession of images and viewpoints that transform the perception of space. As visitors move through the rooms, exhibited pieces appear, disappear or multiply, offering an ever-changing experience.
The scenography also incorporates several surfaces made from Silver Mirror PVC Flooring. Installed beneath selected furniture pieces, they create a particularly elegant levitation effect. Objects appear to detach from the historic parquet while their silhouettes extend into the reflection below. The effect remains deliberately discreet: it never diverts attention from the works but contributes to their enhancement. On certain pieces, the mirror also reflects labels and environmental details, enriching the reading of the exhibition.
One of the challenges of a design exhibition is to highlight creations while preserving their legibility. Here, mirror acts as a revealer. It amplifies the presence of the works without ever becoming the main subject. This approach allows the scenography to guide the visitor’s gaze while respecting the identity of each exhibited piece. The result is an exhibition where architecture, furniture and light engage in a subtle balance.
Presented as part of 3 Days of Design, the Résurgences exhibition illustrates the vitality of contemporary French design through the reissue of emblematic works. For this scenography, Like Mirror is proud to have supported the project as a patron, providing mirror solutions integrated throughout the exhibition route.
